At Mindrise we focus on practical, high-ROI applications of AI — not hype.
As an IT Project Manager with 25 years of experience, and Managing Director of Mindrise, I was recently interviewed by The Digital Project Manager.
The interview covered:
• Using AI to reduce routine workload and free up time
• Practical automations Mindrise designs for small businesses
• Applying AI ethically and responsibly to enhance human performance
A few key points from the conversation:
Designing automation workflows should be guided by return on investment. Sometimes a deterministic, rule-based automation is exactly what is needed. “Fancy” AI use cases may look impressive in demonstrations, but business automation must be realistic and reliable.
AI can take on repetitive tasks, assisting teams and freeing up time for more meaningful work. However, tasks that rely on emotional intelligence and collaboration — such as team alignment and people management — should remain firmly in the remit of humans.
It is important to use AI ethically and responsibly. Sensitive business and personal information must be protected, and compliance with data protection regulations, including GDPR, should be maintained. AI outputs should always be treated as drafts and reviewed before use. This is why human in the loop is a core design principle in the automation workflows that Mindrise develops.
I concluded the interview with a reflection that aligns with my experience: AI allows us to focus on what really matters. It raises our productivity and effectiveness to levels we have not seen before — and it gives us the opportunity to be more human.
